Welcome to the my personal page
This year I will be participating in the 38th Annual Prouty, held on July 12 & 13, 2019, in Hanover, New Hampshire. For me, this year's ride is, in part, to celebrate being 4 months away from 5 years of being cancer free. As part of the Prouty Ultimate, I will be cycling 100 miles on Friday and rowing 20 miles on Saturday.
The decision to ride and row, to train, to fundraise - those are the easy choices. I am riding because I can - because my response to treatment was favorable due in large part to research made possible by donations like yours. I am also riding and rowing to show support for those who can't. By riding, I am honoring fellow survivors and the memory of too many friends who inspired us, motivated us, and never gave up even when cancer proved too much. Your donation will help researchers find better treatments and eventually a cure. In particular, this year, my ride is dedicated to Cameron, the 3 year old son of a former rower who has been diagnosed with Group 3 Medulloblastoma, a form of brain cancer, and is currently undergoing cutting edge treatment.
Money raised helps to fund important cancer research which benefits everyone everywhere, and, as well as patient support services at Dartmouth's Norris Cotton Cancer Center, one of only 49 comprehensive cancer centers designated by the National Cancer Institute. Supporting The Prouty means supporting researchers and clinicians who are working on innovative ways to prevent, diagnose, treat and hopefully, one day, cure cancer.
