Welcome to the my personal page
We are still in the thick of winter up here in VT, but Emilia and I have already started talking about cycling and our annual ride to support the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Cancer Center. Last year Emilia and I rode the 50-mile course together and raised over $1,000. Thank you for your support!
This year we plan on 'going bigger'. After breezing through 50-mi last year, Emilia has been talking up the 100-mi ride. With determination like hers, I have no doubts. With Emilia up for the Saturday 100-mi course with me, I am going for the 2-day 200-mile Ultimate Ride, that tacks on another 100-mi ride on Friday. A number of my DHMC colleages and riding buddies are veterans of this ride and I am going to join in! (We kick this off with an additional 100-mi 'warm-up' ride the previous weekend through the White Mountains with Franconia Notch and the Kankamagus Highway).
I am launching my fundraising effort a bit early this year to take advantage of a great opportunity to recieve mathcing support . Ending at midnight tonight (2/14!!!), the local Byrne Foundation has a 3-to-1 match for donations (yes, they'll give $3 for every one that is given by others) and then a 2-to-1 match starting tomorrow. Any donations made this evening will be quadrupled, then later tripled, to help the Cancer Center reach its annual $3M goal.
The Prouty raises money for Dartmouth-Hitchcock Norris Cotton Cancer Center, to help further the world class research and patient supportive services that Norris Cotton Cancer Center provides to New Hampshire, Vermont and Maine. More info is available at www.theprouty.org .
