Spectrum for Hope and the Doug Flutie Jr. Foundation for Autism Join Forces
The Doug Flutie Jr., Foundation for Autism, is thrilled to announce a new partnership with Spectrum for Hope (SFH). In the interest of creating the most significant impact for families, SFH and the Flutie Foundation, two like-minded, mission-aligned nonprofits are joining forces to meet the needs of the autism and special needs community to create a more profound impact.
The Anastasi family, who has three children, two with special needs, founded SFH in 2017. Their daughter, Jenna, has Rett Syndrome, which requires 24-hour-a-day care. Their son, Michael, is on the Autism spectrum along with ADHD. They understand the needs and support required for families raising more than one child with special needs. In just two years, SFH has given a total of $125,000 to 88 families. They have granted affected families the necessary support their children needed when insurance could not.
Together, the Flutie Foundation and Spectrum for Hope will expand programs and positively impact the autism community with their collaborative efforts. It will give the organizations increased leverage to help families with multiple children with special needs. The new program called “Spectrum for Hope” will continue to grant money to support families who have multiple children with special needs.
