We’re proud release the new fourth edition of "Fresh Seasonal Recipes" - The Happy Kitchen cookbook! This edition contains familiar favorites alongside new additions. Almost 35 of the 101 recipes are new and about half of the old recipes were improved.
Our cookbook includes a variety of recipes, including main dishes, sides, sauces, breakfast, and dessert, but the focus for the new edition is fresh, local produce. We also wanted to continue optimizing our recipes for new cooks, or those who may be new to cooking locally and seasonally.
We have several new recipes that use local vegetables as a main ingredient, like Curried Butternut Squash Soup, Eggplant Bolognese, and Teriyaki Bok Choy with Chicken. We also have flexible recipes, like How to Make a Frittata, that can made with lots of different.
We hope that these changes will make it easier to cook with fresh ingredients from a local farmers’ market, farm stand, garden, or local produce subscription.
Like in previous editions, each recipe is marked with the food group, nutrition facts, and cost per serving. The average cost per serving is $0.78! There’s also an index by ingredient, so if you have half a head of cabbage to use up or aren’t sure what to do with the turnips in your CSA box, we can help.
We hope you’ll find some new favorite recipes and new twists on old favorites.
