Breakfast, lunch or dinner, spices make meals more interesting -- and regular use of some spices can improve your health! In this class, you will learn the what, how and why of using spices and spice blends. Hema Reddy, from Sneaky Apron, will show you simple ways to add health-promoting spices to your food, like seasoning a salad with toasted cumin or adding ground cassia cinnamon to your smoothie. You will also learn how to create your own spice blends to make soothing tonics like 'golden milk', power-packed dips and versatile stir-fries.
Hema Reddy is a technology professional turned food blogger with a passion towards preparing wholesome meals and ensuring every dish includes the essentials of a well-balanced diet. She started cooking as early as 8 years old helping her mom in India, making simple foods like 'rotis' and 'curries' and over time has evolved into branching out into various cuisines. She particularly likes to include functional ingredients such turmeric, ginger, and spices that aid one's immune and gut health. This is a demonstration class. You will sample what Hema cooks, but it might not be a complete meal.
Classes are for adults. Youth ages 12 and up may attend with purchase of an additional ticket and close parent/guardian supervision during class.
Registration closes two business days before class. All attendees must purchase tickets to attend. No walk-ins allowed.
