Make 2018 the year your New Year’s resolutions become lifelong healthy eating habits! In this six-class series, you will learn essential nutrition information and cooking skills needed for eating a healthful diet. You will leave each class feeling confident and excited about cooking at home and empowered to make smart food choices every day.

Dr. JohnClasses will meet on Tuesdays and Saturdays for three weeks. Each Tuesday will be an interactive/demo class co-led by Dr. John and Chef Amy. On Saturdays, you will apply what you learned in a hands-on cooking class that includes lunch and Q&A. By the end, Fuel-Fiber-Flavor will be your new healthy-eating mantra!

Class 1 & 2: Fuel
Learn the basics of how to fuel your body for optimal health. Make healthy choices, and select and prepare the foods that will sustain you throughout your busy life. We’ll cover the roles carbs, proteins and fats play in cooking and in your health, and you’ll discover new ways to include these foods in your everyday diet.

Class 3 & 4: Fiber
Fiber matters more than you might think. Learn about the health benefits of fiber, including its role in digestion, metabolism/weight loss, and cancer prevention, and learn how to creatively and deliciously incorporate fiber-rich foods at every meal.

Class 5 & 6: Flavor
Healthy food doesn’t have to be boring. Learning the art of seasoning your food with the sensible use of fat, sweet, salt, herbs and spices can transform your cooking and your health. Dr. John and Chef Amy will introduce you to some power-packed flavor ingredients, why they are good for you, and how to make integrate them into your daily menus.

Some of these classes are hands-on, so please dress appropriately for the kitchen (closed-toe shoes, comfortable clothes, hair tie for long hair).

Classes are for adults. Youth ages 12 and up may attend with purchase of an additional ticket and close parent/guardian supervision during class.

Registration closes two business days before class. All attendees must purchase tickets to attend. No walk-ins allowed.

* All payments are final and non-refundable. However, we would be happy to transfer your spot in this class to someone else if you cannot attend.
