Come see how much fun it can be to spice up your menus while still keeping things light, fresh and healthy. Join Tye Lewis, owner of Tye Cooks Austin, in The Happy Kitchen to learn about the flavors and techniques of East Africa. Inspired by Tanzanian and Zanzibari cuisine, we'll be using ingredients fresh from our SFC Teaching Garden and SFC Farmers’ Markets. Tye will demonstrate how to make popular East African foods and then you will get hands-on practice making a dish yourself! Even better, everyone will take home a spice blend, and we will even be joined by a sommelier who will pair the dishes with Texas wines.
We will sample what we cook, but it might not be a complete meal.
Class participants must be 16 and older. Youth ages 12-15 may attend with purchase of an additional ticket and close parent/guardian supervision during class.
Registration closes two business days before class. All attendees must purchase tickets to attend. No walk-ins allowed.
* All payments are final and non-refundable. However, we would be happy to transfer your spot in this class to someone else if you cannot attend.
