Hunger Walk 2021

Did you know 1 in 7 people in our community are food insecure? That means 270,000 individuals do not know where their next meal is coming from.

The basics of food and shelter are critically important now more than ever during the pandemic. CAIN has worked through many challenges over the past year and continues to serve an ever-growing number of our community's most vulnerable citizens. We continue to serve our neighbors in Northside and beyond and have had a tremendous increase in need.  We have seen a 53% increase in unique households served from 1,076 households in 2019 to 2,047 in 2020.  We saw a 50% increase in household visits with many visiting multiple times a month. The need for rental assistance has increased during the pandemic as well. We have increased our spending from $13,903 in 2019 to $25,493 in 2020 helping to keep 127 families in housing.

CAIN is one of Freestore Foodbanks agency partners.
