On Friday June 3rd, I am participating in Fred’s Walk for my 7th year! Fred's Walk is a guided walking tour of some of Fred Victor’s 21 downtown locations Part of this journey is busting myths and breaking stigmas surrounding homelessness and poverty. Through staff tour guides and speakers, we will learn about the challenges that people experiencing poverty and homelessness are facing and how the team at Fred Victor is responding. Fred Victor helps 3000 people each day and last year offered more than 250,000 meals during the difficult pandemic. Of note, all programs continued to operate throughout the pandemic!
My favourite part of the walk is meeting with some of the 400 truly incredible staff that care and support our client community every day
Breaking news! You may have seen in the media that Fred Victor, with the city of Toronto, will open a new 86 person unit in Scarborough by converting an old motel and building a new modular housing unit.
