Attorney General Eric Holder launched the Defending Childhood Initiative on September 23, 2010 to address children's exposure to violence. This problem affects each one of us. Effectively addressing it must become our shared concern and our shared cause.

Strengthen Families, Prevent Violence is a campaign for Indian Country and was designed to educate and engage families on concrete action steps that they can take to promote resiliency and healing for children. The campaign was funded by the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (DOJ) and developed by Futures Without Violence, Native Streams Institute, and staff from the Rocky Boy Indian Reservation and the Rosebud Sioux Tribe.

The 17” x 22” poster may be used in any community or health setting including Tribal offices, schools, gyms/recreation centers, health care facilities and visitation centers.

The Strengthen Families, Prevent Violence campaign includes:

  • Three posters targeting grandparents, parents and caregivers, and community members
  • Three billboards targeting grandparents, parents and caregivers, and community members
  • A brochure for grandparents, parents, and care givers with action steps that they can take to promote resiliency and healing for children

Available as a PDF and in hard copy in quantities of 1, 5, 10, or 15.
