Jumping for Joy

So many of us have been touched by cancer.  My mother, Natalie Gibson, was diagnosed with stage 4 ovarian cancer in September of 2013.  Mom courageously fought this disease for over 7 years, enduring many setbacks but so many more blessings along the way.  The love and support of her friends and family helped fuel her fight, but it was her tremendous Faith and amazing "Natitude" that inspired all of us to never take a single day for granted, to reexamine our own Faith and to find JOY in every situation.  Mom may be gone in body, but her spirit is still very much present.

One of the causes that Mom was most passionate about was the Prisma Health Cancer Institute.  The medical professionals that took care of Mom were second to none, and she was one of their favorite patients!  The Upstate SC Community is so fortunate to have that level of care right here in our backyard, but, unfortunately, our community’s needs only continue to increase.  In order to maintain and continue to improve the medical care we have in Greenville, we must continue to invest in these organizations.

Prisma Health Care’s Cancer Center has been sponsoring a Dragon Boat Festival for the past 16 years and has raised over $4,000,000 since its inception.  Our family is sponsoring the “Jumping for Joy” team this year, and we’d love your support.  The festival will be held Saturday, May 14th at Portman Shoals Marina on Lake Hartwell.  Like so many families that lost loved ones over the past 2 years, we weren't able to celebrate Mom's life with friends the way we would have liked to.  If you're able to help us paddle and raise money, we'd love your support!

If you are unable to come to the festival in person, but would still like to make a financial donation, you can "Donate Now" from this Jumping for Joy Team page.  Thank you all for your consideration and support of this most worthy cause.
