Dear Friends and Family,

It's that time of year again...kick off for Dragon Boat 2024.  There are so many rewarding things to accomplish this year and I know YOU want to be a part of that!!  I hope that all of you who participated last year can do so again.  And for those who weren't able, this is your year; after all, it is year of the dragon! 

This fundraiser is huge for our community, our family members, and friends battling cancer.  Prisma Health Dragon Boat Upstate Festival uses your donation to provide much needed support for local cancer prevention and early detection, advanced cancer research and patient programs, as well as life-changing patient and survivor programs. 

There are many ways to participate in Prisma Dragon Boat 2024. Be a donor, a paddler, or a cheerleader. Donors can also be paddlers; cheerleaders can also be donors…go to https://secure3.convio.net/ghso/site/TR/DragonBoat/General?pg=entry&fr_id=1330 and register or donate (maybe both??). If you just want to donate please scroll to the bottom of the page you can search for a team, type in  “Ragin’ Cajuns” (our boat name); or a participant, and type in Alison Jones (captain) and check your spelling on either when you enter.

There is a $25 registration fee to be at the Portman Marina the day of the event (either as a paddler or a cheerleader).  You will receive a Ragin’ Cajun t-shirt and get to spend the day on the water!!  There are three heats in which to paddle a dragon boat so sign up as a paddler:  no experience required.

Please ask your friends, families, and any businesses you have connections with to donate to this worthy cause.  And please note this is not a child friendly event due to the length of the day and the water.
