About Our Organization
Run4Life, previously known as Caine Halter Lungs4Life, was founded in honor of Caine Halter, whose life journey was cut short by lung cancer at the age of 44. A passionate “army” of loving family, friends, colleagues, and community made the commitment to celebrate Caine’s life and provide hope by fighting back against lung cancer. After raising nearly $1 million through an incredible seven years of Lungs4Life, Caine's family and friends partnered with Prisma Health Cancer Institute and Cancer Society of Greenville County to bring hope to patients fighting all types of cancer.
The event benefits cancer research, including the Caine Halter Lung Cancer Research Fund, and patient support through the Prisma Health Cancer Institute and the
Cancer Society of Greenville County. Proceeds from the 12th annual race will fund Prisma Health Institute for Translational Oncology (ITOR) projects, specific lung cancer initiatives, cancer prevention, and Prisma Health research work with innovation partners like Kiyatec, as well as patient support programs offered through the Cancer Society of Greenville County.
