This year we have a goal of raising $160,000 for cancer research and patient support programs in the Upstate. How will we reach this goal? With YOUR help! Follow these fundraising tips and you’ll find success as we raise money for Run4Life.
Teams that have at least $1,500 raised before Monday, Oct. 28, will receive a bandstand tent! Many of our teams raise close to $1,000 for Run4Life. We want to push your fundraising to the next level by rewarding you... All teams that raise a minimum of $1,500 (inclusive of sponsor dollars) will receive a tent for your family and friends to gather before and after the race! The tents will be located just past the finish line next to the stage, giving you a great view for awards and entertainment.
Top Teams Awarded At Event! Raise the most money and get rewarded. The top fundraising team and the top family fundraising team (excluding sponsorship dollars) will be honored with a plaque at the event during the awards ceremony. Current team rankings are located on the homepage of the website.

PERSONALIZE YOUR WEBPAGE
Use your Facebook/Twitter/LinkedIn and other social media accounts. Be sure to promote your fundraising efforts on those sites by posting your Run4Life fundraising page link to make it easy for your social networking friends to support you.
TELL YOUR STORY
Always share your personal story and connection to Run4Life. Many people will want to support you in honor or in memory of someone touched by cancer. Share your personal connection to the Run4Life mission to underscore the importance of raising much-needed funds for research and awareness for cancer research.
Ask everyone you know to donate. The number one rule of fundraising is to ask! Email or send your fundraising letter, with a link to your Run4Life fundraising page, to your holiday card list, business and community contacts, company vendors, friends and family members.
SET A GOAL
Set a personal fundraising goal and share that goal in your letter and on your web page. We ask that every participant set your best personal goal so that we can meet our goal of $160,000.
Look into matching-grant programs. Many companies offer matching grant programs, so stop in and ask for an application.
ORGANIZE A BAKE SALE
Schedule a bake sale. Create a list of potential bakers and enlist their support. Recruit volunteers to take shifts throughout the day. The event should be promoted multiple times to all employees by email and flyers on each floor the week before the sale.
HOLD A CAR WASH
Host a car wash. Ask a local business to use their parking lot for the weekend. Ask your family and friends to help. Charge a flat rate/best donation with all proceeds going to Run4Life. Print large signs and get the sponges ready!
Encourage team registration and fundraising by using incentives. Raffle off the CEO parking spot to the team member who raises the most funds that month or a day off (with pay!) to the top team fundraiser at the end of the campaign.
GET RESTAURANTS INVOLVED
Ask your favorite restaurant to add an extra line to customer receipts during a week leading up to the event. Not only can patrons leave their normal tip for the server, but they can add a “Run4Life donation line” and then the restaurant will give you the total raised.
SHARE YOUR EVENTS WITH US
We want to help you promote your events. Email firstname.lastname@example.org your upcoming fundraising opportunities that are open to the community. We will post them in our eNews publications and our social media channels.
THANK YOUR DONORS
Send out thank you notes, or make calls after the event to thank your sponsors for their contributions. By showing your gratitude and appreciation, donors are more likely to repeat behavior and donate to Run4Life again! Let your sponsors know their donation made a difference for those affected by cancer.
