Michigan State University has the largest on-campus coal plant in the United States. Burning over 200,000 tons of dirty, dangerous coal every year the T.B. Simon coal plant puts 47,000 students and thousands of community members at risk of health complications from burning coal.In response to continuous student pressure, the university produced an unambitious, flawed energy plan that touts 100% clean energy as a goal, but offers no timeline on how to get there.
Tell MSU to set an example for the rest of the country by fixing the flawed energy plan. That means committing to close the T.B. Simon coal plant as quickly as possible and replacing it with 100% clean energy.
