Tell Secretary Kerry to be an Arctic ambassador

Take ActionNewly appointed Secretary of State John Kerry has the power to help save the Arctic.

As Secretary of State, his department is responsible for advocating the United States’ interests through an eight-nation forum called the Arctic Council. The Council will be meeting in Sweden this May to discuss the future of the Arctic and when they do, we need the U.S. position to be as strong as possible.

But that all depends on Secretary Kerry.

Secretary Kerry was a champion for global warming legislation during his days in the Senate. Now he has the power to protect the Arctic and send a strong message to the world that the U.S. is getting serious about climate change. We need him to do just that.

Shell has already canceled its plans to drill in the Arctic this year. But you can bet it will be back as soon as possible. That means we have from now until May to make sure Secretary Kerry gets the message that if we want to stop climate change and save the Arctic then we have to make Arctic drilling ‘off limits’ forever.

Take action today and join our campaign to protect the Arctic. Tell Secretary Kerry that it’s time for the United States to get serious about protecting the Arctic and dealing with climate change.
