Tell Walmart: No Dead Sharks for Cheap Tuna!

Leaked photo of sharks on board tuna vessel in 2013 Walmart’s low prices come at a high cost for ocean life and may put seafood workers at risk.

Walmart sells tuna caught with destructive methods that kill thousands of sharks, sea turtles, and other threatened animals. And Walmart, the largest retailer in the world, buys tuna from the largest canned tuna company in the world, Thai Union Group. Thai Union is notorious for ocean destruction and has been connected to horrendous abuse of seafood workers — including forcing people to work for months with no escape — in some of its supply chains.

Walmart must ensure that its canned tuna — and any seafood it sells — isn’t caught on the backs of exploited workers or destroying the ocean. Walmart must live up to its talk about social and environmental responsibility, sell more sustainable tuna and use its influence to change Thai Union.

Tell Walmart to take responsibility for what it sells right now!
