Help make the South Atlantic Whale Sanctuary a reality

On July 2, 2012 the South Atlantic Whale Sanctuary proposal came to a vote at the International Whaling Commission (IWC) meeting in Panama City, Panama. In a vote of 38 to 21 in favor of the sanctuary, the proposal did not reach the 3/4 majority required by IWC rules.

While this is a huge disappointment, it's just a bump in the road for saving whales. We will continue to campaign for a whale sanctuary in the South Atlantic, and ask the IWC to reform its commission practices.

To ask for IWC reform, take action now.
