On April 20, 2010, the nation experienced the largest oil drilling disaster in history. BP’s blowout spilled 200 million gallons of oil topped with 2 million gallons of toxic dispersants into the Gulf, the effects of which we are still dealing with today. Over two years later, Congress has finally passed the RESTORE Act which will bring money from BP's eventual Clean Water Act fines back to the Gulf for restoration and recovery.
This is a huge victory and we need to thank Congress and President Obama for this action, while urging them to create a Regional Citizens Advisory Council to protect the Gulf from future oil disasters. Use the form below to call on our elected officials to take action for the Gulf of Mexico.
If you take action and have not already registered, you will receive periodic updates and communications from Gulf Restoration Network.
