Jean Ann (Monczka) Thibodeau, 92, beloved wife of the late Albert “Tibby” Thibodeau, died on October 19th, the eve of Albert’s birthday, at the Ludlow, VT home of her oldest daughter Pamela (Christopher) Hardiman. Together, Albert and Jean are remembered for their Springfield, MA business, Tibby’s Harley-Davidson Sales, Inc, a city fixture for 50+ years. Throughout her life, Jean had many hobbies and pursuits, including an early interest in fencing, where she met Albert in a YWCA class. Volleyball, knitting, stained glass, pottery, antique restoration, weaving, and the cancer support group at Mercy Hospital all occupied different periods of her life.  Her most enduring pursuits were sewing and quilting. She loved color and pattern, and shared that love with others through her Double T Quilt Shop, offering unusual fabrics from all over the world in both her shop and in her booth at quilt festivals throughout the Northeast in the 80’s and 90’s. Always an avid reader, she remained interested in the daily news and books of all kinds to the end.

Jean will be remembered with great love by Pam (Chris), daughter Karen, and son Jason (Cathy), as well as grandchildren, Gregory (Isamara), Nicholas, and Daniel Hardiman, Bridgitte and sons Joseph and Jordan Bousquet, and Abigail and David. Also, her sister Phyllis (Irvin) Shyloski, brother Walt Monska and many quilting friends. The family is grateful for the care provided by so many dedicated professionals.
