Event Information

Will there be an in-person event?
The Hospice Special Events team is planning for an in-person event. However, if necessary, due to potential COVID restrictions, this may have to turn to a virtual event. For the most up to date information please visit HospiceMemorialWalk.com

What are the Walk Routes?
For the Canalside event, walkers can choose from a 1-mile fun walk or 3 mile walk around the surrounding area. If you are a virtual walker and cannot make the in-person event, walkers can create their own route, or you can choose from one of our suggested routes. Simply click on SUGGESTED WALKED ROUTES in the ABOUT tab drop down. There you will find a list of 5K routes around Western New York.

Where do I get My Walk T-Shirt & Memory Ribbon?
All registered walkers and virtual walkers will receive a Walk t-shirt & memory ribbon. These can be picked up on the Hospice campus during Walk Kick-Off Days: 

  • Thursday, May 5th from 12 pm - 6 pm
  • Friday, May 6th, between 9 am - 4pm
This is your opportunity to skip the registration line the moring of Walk Day. Please call the Speical Events Team to schedule your pick-up time: 716-989-2022 

 

Registration

Do I need to register for the 2022 Hospice Memorial Walk online?
Yes, anyone interested in joining the Hospice Memorial Walk can register online for $35 (price only until 5/6/22) or $50 (5/7/22 through day-of the event).

All registered walkers and virtual walkers will receive an official 2022 Walk t-shirt along with memorial ribbon. Click on the REGISTER AS AN INDIVIDUAL OR JOIN A TEAM button and you will be guided through the registration process. Once your transaction is complete, you will receive a confirmation email receipt.

How old do I need to be to register?
In order to receive a t-shirt and memorial ribbon we ask that you are 13 years or older.

What does my registration fee get me?
The registration counts towards your fundraising goal and ensures you will receive your Walk t-shirt and memorial ribbon. On Walk Day all registered walkers will receive a picnic lunch.

How do I know if my registration went through?
After you've registered, you should receive a confirmation email. You will also be able to login and view your Participant Center, where you can edit your profile and look at your donations.

How do I form a Walk Team?
Click on the FORM A TEAM button and you will be guided through the registration process. It is the role of the Team Captain to form the team. Once the Team Captain has registered and created the team, they can invite all the other team members to join.

Fundraising

Who can receive fundraising rewards?
All registered virtual walkers are eligible to earn fundraising rewards. Check out the 2022 rewards! Click on FUNDRAISING INCENTIVES in the FOR WALKERS drop down.

When will I receive my fundraising rewards?
Most fundraising rewards should be available by Walk Kick-Off Day, May 5th and May 6th

What is Hats Off To Hospice?
All walkers who raise $500 + automatically join our Hats Off To Hospice Club. These walkers will receive a commemorative Hats Off To Hospice hat and pin. They will also receive special Walk Day perks along with an invitation to a summer ice cream party.

What is the Participant Center?
Once you are registered for this year's Walk, you will have access to your Participant Center. To get there, click on "Login" on the Hospice Memorial Walk homepage. Here, you can see your donations and manage your profile. This is where you can change your picture on your personal fundraising page, write your personal appeal, and update your fundraising goal.

What happens if I do not meet my fundraising goal?
Do not fear your fundraising goal! Even if you do not reach your goal you will still receive your Walk t-shirt and ribbon. Fundraising goals are a great tool to motivate yourself and team members, don’t be afraid to challenge yourself!

Do you accept checks? Who should they be made out to?
Yes, we accept checks. Please make them out to “Hospice Foundation” and in the memo section of the check be sure to include the name of the walker you are donating to.

How long do I have to fundraise?
All walkers have until Tuesday, May 31, 2022 to fundraise and turn in donations. Feel free to send donations to:
