Join me in raising funds for the Chemotherapy Unit at Juravinski Cancer Centre.
Hi, I’m Penny (Lewis) MacCormack, and I’m completing my own personal mini triathlon with my friend and my fitness instructor.
In 2019 I was in the best shape of my life participating in boot camp and military tone and other exercises when I got the news that I have metastatic colon cancer. I have spent a lot of time (every two weeks) at Juravinski Cancer Centre in the last two years and want to give back to a place that has become my second home and has supported people I know, including my parents. Everyone at Juravinski Cancer Centre has been awesome from my oncology doctor and nurse, chemo nurses, registration, cleaning staff, volunteers, concierge, lab techs, etc. So, May 29, two days after my 50th (and my 43rd round of chemo completed), I will kayak (Waterford Ponds), bike (Waterford to Simcoe) and walk/jog (Simcoe to Port Dover).
We all know or will know someone who is or has battled cancer, so I am excited to see how we as an extended community can support Juravinski Hospital and Cancer Centre the way it has or will support us and our loved ones.
