Help Defeat a Bill In New Jersey that Would Diminish Patient Safety!
Legislation that would allow audiologists to fit and dispense hearing aids without obtaining a hearing aid dispenser's license recently passed the Senate. The bill could be up for a final vote in the NJ General Assembly very soon. We need your help to defeat this bill.
IHS is concerned about the negative impact this policy change will have on the safety and health of patients and consumers in New Jersey. All hearing healthcare professionals should be required to prove a minimal competency in fitting hearing aids.

Dear [Decision Maker],
As a hearing health professional working in New Jersey, I am strongly opposed to A-3045, which would allow audiologists to fit and dispense hearing aids without obtaining a hearing aid dispensers license. Please vote no on this legislation should it be posted for a floor vote. If audiologists are exempt from the licensing process, the safety and health of the state's hearing impaired may be at risk.
