IHS is working with House Veterans Affairs Chairman Mark Takano (D-CA) to circulate a sign-on letter directed at VA Secretary Robert Wilkie. We need you to urge your Congressperson to sign on! The letter urges Secretary Wilkie to take action to fully implement the Veterans Access to Hearing Health Act, which was contained in PL 114-256; as well as remove restrictions in existing VA policy to allow the VA to more easily contract with hearing aid specialists to provide community-based services. Using the form below, complete your contact information and if you'd like to share a story or experience with veterans experiencing trouble accessing care, you can add it to the body of the letter. Then press "Send Message". If you have questions, contact us via email or phone at 734-522-7200.
If you take action and have not already registered, you will receive periodic updates and communications from International Hearing Society.
Co-Sign Letter to Secretary Wilkie re: Veteran Access to Hearing Health Services
Dear [Decision Maker],
I ask that you co-sign a letter to VA Secretary Robert Wilkie to urge him to take action to help veterans access hearing healthcare services. PL 114-256 directed the VA to develop qualifications for hearing aid specialists so they could be hired by the VA to help provide services to veterans. Yet the VA has failed to act on this directive. House VA Committee Chair Mark Takano is circulating a sign-on letter directed to Secretary Wilkie urging him to take action. As your constituent, I ask that you lend your name and support to this letter, which can be viewed at http://bit.ly/114-256HouseDC.
Sincerely,[Your Name] [Your Address] [City, State ZIP][Your Email]
