Many immigrants in the San Diego border region have been significantly impacted by the devastating health and economic impacts of COVID-19. Yet these working families are ineligible for unemployment benefits, disaster relief funds, Payroll Protection Programs, rental assistance, or food stamps due to their legal status. These hard-working families are members of our community and are once again cut off from earned benefits available to all other working families also struggling to survive.
The SDRRN Immigrant COVID-19 Financial Assistance Fund helps to fill the gap. The fund is open to immigrants in San Diego County with financial assistance individualized per household and family need. The client and family will be assessed for financial need to achieve the goals of maintaining housing, employment and meeting basic needs.
