About

Living Beyond Breast Cancer (LBBC) is a national nonprofit with the mission of connecting people with trusted breast cancer information and a community of support. We do this through a variety of programs and services, including national conferences, regional meetings, webinars and twitter chats, publications, a toll-free Breast Cancer Helpline, and a website that is easy to navigate and full of information.

LBBC was founded in 1991 by a radiation oncologist who discovered there weren’t many resources for a woman after she was diagnosed. She created LBBC as a place where a woman can learn about her diagnoses and treatment options, and connect with others.  As the organization has grown and increased its services, it has become nationally recognized for its high quality, medically reviewed information, programs and services.

LBBC offers information and programming for the person diagnosed with breast cancer, no matter what their age or stage of diagnosis.  The organization’s focus is on the person after they have learned they have breast cancer and making sure that they have the information they need to make informed decisions about their physical and mental well being.  Our goal is to meet the person where they are, in the format that they are most comfortable, whether that be in print, in person, online or over the phone. Our services have expanded to include programming for care givers and medical professions.
