Hi friends and family,
After undergoing a mastectomy and chemotherapy at the age of 33, I am grateful for my current state of good health! I'm in a season of rebuilding my physical strength, reclaiming my time and looking out toward the future. I am learning that one's experience with cancer does not end the day treatment is over- that's just when the "to-do list" directed by your medical team ends. I now face the persisting worries of metastases or recurrence (albeit a small percentage chance) and body image issues. For those who know me well, you know I am fiercely independent and prefer to process things alone versus in a group. However, I am realizing the power in the community of women who are walking down the same road. I have been grateful for finding support groups, a new friend (shout-out to Emily!) and organizations, such as Living Beyond Breast Cancer, to support my emotional health.
Support me and the organization Living Beyond Breast Cancer! The money I raise will help LBBC continue to connect people with trusted breast cancer information and a community of support. Their vision is a world where no one impacted by breast cancer feels uninformed or alone.
Since its launch in Philadelphia in 2001, Reach & Raise has attracted more than $3 million in individual support! In 2017 alone, they served more than 530,000 people through their comprehensive website, informative webinars and publications and in-person conferences. With your help, they can increase their reach and help even more people impacted by this disease.
The infographic below shows LBBC's commitment to its mission and to being responsible stewards of your charitable contributions. Every year since 2004, they have received the highest rating from Charity Navigator (4 stars). I am proud to be supporting them and I hope you will join me by registering or donating today!
