The thing is ... it's hard to ask for a donation right now. The world is crazy and we're staring out the door apprehensively as we start to navigate what our "new normal" looks like. But, the thing is, there are thousands of men and women who have been diagnosed with breast cancer during the global pandemic and they are stretching out to learn the complexity of treatments, contemplate their own mortality and navigate the additional layer of concern with Covid-19. They need our help with their "new normal."
If I learned anything over the last few months, it's the importance of stretching to places that aren't always easy or comfortable and that's why on May 17th, I'll be rolling out my yoga mat to join Living Beyond Breast Cancer in Raise and Reach, a virtual yoga program. Reserve your space and join me in your living room, backyard or wherever you feel most comfortable.
Individual financial support is extremely important to LBBC as they provide support to more than 600,000 people last year. The plan for funds raised from this year are to fund:
- More grants for women in need to help cover food, rent and utilities so they can focus on their health and not their bills.
- Continue to provide timely and trustworthy information ... they host a webinar nearly every week that helps women diagnosed with breast cancer to learn more about the disease and treatment options.
- Provide connections -- a friendly voice either over the phone or online can make all the difference in the mental health of a woman fighting breast cancer. LBBC provides 24/7 support to this community.
