The majestic San Gabriel Mountains are a treasure to all who visit them. Not only is the area a beautiful place to picnic, hike, fish, hunt and enjoy the outdoors with our families and friends -- it also provides Los Angeles with more than one-third of its drinking water, 70 percent of its open space, and cleans the area’s polluted air. Despite the clear benefits of these special lands, the area is not yet permanently protected.
President Obama has protected 11 cultural and historic parks as national monuments, and he says he’s not done yet. Join our friends at San Gabriel Mountains Forever and tell President Obama to protect this unique area as a national monument!
Make the San Gabriel Mountains a national monument!
Dear President Obama,
Thank you for your leadership and commitment to public lands conservation in your years in office. For years, community leaders and organizations in southern California have worked to protect the San Gabriel Mountains and rivers, and it is time to designate this beautiful area as a national monument.
Sincerely,[Your Name] [Your Address] [City, State ZIP]
