The Grand Canyon is an icon of our American heritage, known around the world for its beauty and magnificence. But right now, it’s facing serious risks from greedy corporations — including some who represent the Koch brothers who want to open up areas of the Grand Canyon to radioactive uranium mining.
Tell President Obama: Permanently protect the Grand Canyon.
Please permanently protect the Grand Canyon!
Dear President Obama,
The Grand Canyon region is a magnificent landscape held dear by Native American tribes, Arizonans, and all Americans. In fact, Arizona's Native American tribes, small businesses, and conservation groups have all voiced their support for you to permanently protect 1.7 million acres of the Grand Canyon. And 80% of Arizonans support the proposed monument. In 2012, your administration took the historic step to withdraw much of this region from uranium mining for 20 years. I support that action, and now I am urging you to take the next step by designating the Greater Grand Canyon Heritage National Monument.
