UPS, the world’s largest package delivery company, has gone on record stating that they “support global and national efforts to mitigate the impact of climate change.” Yet in direct contradiction to this statement, they actively support the American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC), a Koch brothers-backed group that seeks to block action on climate change and all progress toward a clean energy economy.
LCV is joining with over 80 other organizations, including the Teamsters, who represent UPS workers, to call on UPS to cut all ties with ALEC. And now we need our supporters like you to really bring it home.
Huge public outcry has led to some of the biggest companies in the world — Yahoo, Google, and even Shell, to name a few — to leave ALEC in the dust. Together, we’re sending a clear message: Supporting ALEC is bad business.
Help us send 15,000 messages directly to UPS CEO David Abney telling him to make good on his company’s priorities by terminating their funding for ALEC!
Why is UPS still supporting the American Legislative Exchange Council?
Dear UPS CEO David Abney,
I am writing to urge you to drop UPS's membership with the American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC). On your website you state that UPS "supports global and national efforts to mitigate the impact of climate change."
By donating or taking this action, you are affirming your membership in the League of Conservation Voters and your desire to receive regular LCV communications and are entitled to vote for a member of the LCV Board of Directors.
