Hello Friends,
I hope you know how much I appreciate all your support and love. For those of you who texted, called Jerry, or sent a card during my treatment last year, please know I felt your kindness and good wishes. For those of you who just thought of me and sent a mental wish, I truly appreciate that as well. I really was a hermit during treatment and when I got COVID and rebound COVID (that was HORRIBLE), I was just in survival mode.
I am glad to report that at my one year post CAR-T the doctor confirmed I am still in remission. My blood work continues to be normal although my immune system is just now barely reaching normal levels. You will see me out and about with a mask on because of that. Being cancer free, though, is well worth the inconvenience.
The LRF website has all the statistics re lymphoma so I am not going to reiterate them here. Just know that the work of LRF has real results in the real world. Both my co-captain, Rick Hazan, and I are examples of that. Both of us have benefitted from LRF research and the educational programming they provide. When someone contacts me that they or a friend of theirs has been diagnosed with lymphoma and asks me for advice, I ALWAYS include contacting LRF as part of the next step. I would not keep doing these walks if LRF wasn't as helpful as it is!
Going through photos of the last year to add to this site has brought me to tears. I am so blessed to have been able to travel, meet my new granddaughter, play with her big sister, plan a wedding and watch my hair grow!! I count my blessings every day
If you can contribute, thank you. If you can walk with us, thank you. If you contribute and walk, thank you! If you just wish us the best, thank you. Everything helps the effort - and that effort has saved my life twice!
With love and sincerest gratitude,
Kimberley (and Jerry and Courtney, Zach, Addison & Peyton, Mackenzie, Cassidy and Nathan!)
