WELCOME and Thank you for visiting my personal page!
For those of you who may not know, I am running the Rock 'n' Roll Half Marathon, in Washington, D.C., on March 10, 2018, in honor of one of my best friends who was recently diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma. I chose to run this race to support the Lymphoma Research Foundation because every year, more than 80,000 people are diagnosed with lymphoma - that means every seven minutes, someone in the United States receives a lymphoma diagnosis. Today, more than 700,000 people are currently living with this disease. The Lymphoma Research Foundation's goal is to eradicate this disease and to help those who are living with Lymphoma.
I am running this race to fundraise for this incredible foundation that is very near and dear to my heart, to challenge myself, and to show support for my beautiful friend who shows strength (physical, mental, and emotional) every single day. Running has always been a challenge for me - both mentally and physically. This past April, I completed my first half marathon ever in Raleigh, NC with a time of 2:25:22.
Seeing the strength my friend has shown each day has inspired me to not only run this race, but to do better than I ever thought I could. Thus, I will be training to beat my previous time, hoping to finish under 2h:15m. This run will be a tremendous challenge for me. I hope that the commitment I have made, and the challenge I have promised to complete, will earn the support of my family, friends, and others, to reach my fundraising goal.
I thank you all for taking the time to visiting my page, and for all of your support (both personal and financial) with this endeavor. No amount is too small. I sincerely appreciate all of your donations!
