The Winners Circle
THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!
AS OF 9:21 PM ON SATURDAY OCTOBER 14, YOU HAVE GENEROUSLY DONATED A WHOPPING $5,896 AND COUNTING!!!
Diana and I had a blast at the Brooklyn Rock and Roll Marathon today. This was both our first time running in a race and running to raise money for a charity. It was a perfect fall morning and the energy and adrenalin of our fellow runners from all walks of life and of all sizes, shapes and colors, was palpable. The 6:00am train into Brooklyn resembled its rush hour counterpart. The cheerleaders, bands, cow bell shakers and music makers gave it a festive, party-like atmosphere. Before we knew it we were off and running!
It was a gorgeous run. We felt strong and capable. We pushed ourselves - Diana running her best time and me breaking into a little caribbean booty shake when the music called for it. Most of all, knowing that you reached deep and gave generously to help families struggling with Lymphoma - families even Diana and I don't know - gave us wings and lightened our steps.
At the finish line our kids were waiting to see our dynamic finish! They were so motivated that Dash (one of Diana's 10 year old twins) suggested that we make it a family event next year. They all epressed such pride in us. Such are the collateral benefits of your "radical generosity."
I want to pause to say a special word about Diana who offered to join me on the run with the words "I want you to know that you are not alone." Diana, you and your network of friends and family members shine a light of love and hope through your selfless giving. Because of you, I strive to be a better me.
I want you to know how much your support has meant to me and my family and more importantly to families receiving new Lymphoma diagnoses and those still coping with this family of illnesses.
With love and gratitude,
