I am walking for Lupus Ontario for a couple of reasons. First, I was diagnosed with lupus nephritis 24 years ago and had suffered with it for 7 years before I was diagnosed. Second, I am supporting Lupus Ontario's work. For example, they are bringing awareness to the high cost of medications and to meds that are still not available in Canada. 

Also, most life-saving meds are not affordable and create a barrier to recovery. Most insurance plans do not cover the drug and most likely, never the full amount. These drugs cost thousands of dollars. I know, I take one of them. 

I know that your donations really do make a difference in research, Ontario lupus clinics and for lupus survivors. I attest to that as I have been on some of the working committees.
