What is Fundraise to End Cancer?

Fundraise to End Cancer is an easy way to fundraise on behalf of MD Anderson by creating an online fundraising page. Watch this short video to learn more.

Where does the money go?

All donations to this site support The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center’s mission to eliminate cancer in Texas, the nation and the world.

Can the funds that I raise support a specific area of MD Anderson’s mission?

Yes. When registering, you can select one of the following mission areas: greatest need, research, prevention, education or patient care. If you do not select an area, the funds you raise will go toward the area of greatest need.

Can the funds I raise support a specific research initiative or doctor?

No. At this time, donations can be only directed towards one of the following mission areas: greatest need, research, prevention, education or patient care. The funds cannot be directed to a specific initiative or doctor.

Is there a minimum age requirement to create a fundraising page?

You must be 18 years of age or older to create a fundraising page. Individuals under 18 years of age must have a parent or legal guardian create a fundraising page on their behalf and agree to the Terms and Conditions.

Will my email address be added to any mailing list(s)?

You will receive emails from the Fundraise to End Cancer team as part of your registration. You can opt in to receive additional emails on the latest MD Anderson updates during the registration and donation process.

How do I fundraise?

Fundraising is easy with your own fundraising page and online tools. Watch this video to learn about all of the resources available once you register.

Can I access my fundraising page on my phone?

Yes. The Fundraise to End Cancer website is mobile friendly. Also, you can download the Fundraise to End Cancer mobile application for your iPhone or Android device.

Can I use the MD Anderson logo on my fundraising materials?

You may use any of the MD Anderson-branded materials provided through the Fundraise to End Cancer website for the sole purpose of promoting your fundraiser. These materials may not be altered.

Can I create my own materials with MD Anderson’s logo?

If you wish to use the MD Anderson name and/or trademarks on materials not provided through the Fundraise to End Cancer website, you must complete and submit our Third Party Event form. Contact us at fundraise@mdanderson.org to learn more.

Will MD Anderson help me pay for an event space?

No. MD Anderson will not be responsible for any expenses associated with your fundraiser.

What’s the deadline for sending in the funds I raise?

We ask that you turn in all funds raised through your fundraiser to MD Anderson no later than 60 days after your event date.

How long will my fundraising page stay open?

Fundraising pages will close on December 31 of the year in which they were created. We ask that you turn in all funds raised through your fundraiser to MD Anderson no later than 60 days after your event date.

Can I have a speaker from MD Anderson at my fundraising event?

Email fundraise@mdanderson.org to request an MD Anderson speaker for your event. Due to the high volume of requests, we cannot guarantee an MD Anderson speaker at your event. Requests must be made a minimum of 6 weeks prior to the requested date.

Is it okay to have alcohol at my event?

You are solely responsible for ensuring that your event is conducted in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. MD Anderson will have no responsibility for the conduct of your event.

How do I delete my fundraising page?

Your fundraising page will close on December 31. If you would like to delete your fundraising page prior to this date, you can make your page inactive in your Participant Center or contact fundraise@mdanderson.org for assistance.

Are there specific rules I must follow when fundraising on behalf of MD Anderson?

You are solely responsible for ensuring that your fundraising on behalf of MD Anderson is in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, and is conducted in accordance with MD Anderson’s mission, values and policies. MD Anderson reserves the right and sole discretion to remove any fundraising pages from the Fundraise to End Cancer website due to noncompliance with any such applicable laws, regulations, values and policies.

Is my fundraising page public?

Yes. Your fundraising page will be public and searchable on online search engines.

How can I promote my fundraiser?

Use the tools available in the Participant Center to promote your fundraiser. You also can share a link to your fundraising page in emails, on social media and via text message.

What should I do with any cash donations that I collect?

Please convert all cash donations to money orders before mailing to:

Can I partner with a local business, like a restaurant, to raise funds?

Yes. However, you are responsible for any promotion of any such partnership. MD Anderson is unable to assist in and will not be responsible for any promotion of any such partnership or your fundraiser.

I’m an MD Anderson employee. Can I create a Fundraise to End Cancer page?

Yes. Creating a Fundraise to End Cancer page is a great way to give back to MD Anderson. You must follow all applicable MD Anderson policies in conducting your fundraiser, including the Charitable Activities, Charitable Expenditures, and Solicitation Policy (#ADM0115).

I would like to host a fundraising event to benefit MD Anderson. How can I get started?

If you would like to host a fundraising event to benefit MD Anderson, please review the Third-Party form to begin this process.

Donations

Are donations tax deductible?

Yes. A donation confirmation will be emailed to the donor when the online donation is processed. It also serves as your tax receipt.

Is the MD Anderson Fundraise to End Cancer website a secure online platform?

Yes. All private information shared on the Fundraise to End Cancer website, including the donation form, is on secure URLs.

Is it safe to use my credit card?

Yes. Donation pages are on secure URLs to ensure that your credit card information is safe.

Can I donate using PayPal?

At this time, PayPal is not an approved method of payment. However, you can use PayPal when you connect your webpage to a Facebook Fundraiser. Learn how to create a Facebook Fundraiser in your Participant Center.

Can I make a donation internationally?

Yes.

Can I make a check donation?

Yes. Please make checks payable to MD Anderson Cancer Center. Include Fundraise to End Cancer and the name of the person hosting the fundraiser in the memo line. Send checks, along with this form to:
