On May 26, 2009, an Islamist forum posted an article by Abu Hamza Al-Maqdisi, an anonymous yet active writer in the Islamist forums who posts regularly about Hamas and its persistent struggle to uproot the salafi movement in Gaza.

On May 26, 2009, an Islamist forum posted an article by Abu Hamza Al-Maqdisi, an anonymous yet active writer in the Islamist forums who posts regularly about Hamas and its persistent struggle to uproot the salafi movement in Gaza.

The article, posted on a Islamist forum and titled "The Salafiyya of Gaza, Its Ideological Predicament, and Its Obscure Future"paints a gloomy picture of the salafi movement in Gaza. Abu Hamza, himself an adherent of the salafi-jihadi doctrine in Gaza, criticizes the salafi-jihadi groups for being unwilling to make concessions in order to unite under one banner and allow the spread of the doctrine in Gaza.
