The Mustard Seed Communities (MSC) mission program is a critical component of our organization.
As a mission volunteer, you bring faith and
love to the children we serve. While in Jamaica, you will
spend time getting to know our residents while completing work projects
to improve the facilities where they live and learn. When you return
from your week of service, you become the voice of MSC, sharing the
stories of children who cannot tell their own.
Mustard Seed Communities' home in Moneague is called Jacob's Ladder. Jacob’s Ladder, located on
100 acres of land, is home to nearly 50 young adults with
both physical and mental disabilities. In Jamaica, there are no
facilities available to take care of individuals with mental and
physical disabilities after the age of 18. The vision for Jacob’s Ladder
is to fill this void by providing 400 young adults with mental and
physical disabilities a home where they can live out their lives. At
present, there are nearly 30 cottages completed, in addition there are
several animal husbandry and large agriculture projects underway.
