Welcome to My Personal Page - Jeff Boyce
I am happy and excited to announce that we will be returning to Nicaragua in February, 2020.
Just to refresh you all: we started these orphanages with less than 10 kids - all with special needs ranging from minor physical and learning disabilities, to Down Syndrome, to some very serious cerebral palsy cases. Mustard Seed has grown from our single group raising money and bringing supplies to over 30 groups that regularly support our work in Nicaragua - and we now care for over 80 residents. We've totally rebuilt the original orphanage in Managua, where we now house the youngest and neediest kids. We continue to expand our built-from-scratch property in Diriamba as a haven for the older residents. We continue to "find" more in need, and the younger kids "age up" to Diriamba. Remember, we supply a home for life because these folks generally have no place else to go. I won't go into detail as I have in the past as to where/how some of these kids were found and the abuse they suffered before coming to us but suffice it to say, Mustard Seed is saving lives every day.
Every year, I reach out to my network to help me support this worthy effort and you have been incredible for nearly 15 years! The need is even more than in the past - due to the political climate in Nicaragua, fewer groups have been raising money and supplies for the past 2 years, and there is still some reluctance of groups to visit now. But I am pressing forward, for you know I have a great attachment to these children, some of whom I've watched grow into young adults - with the same innocence and love they showed as toddlers. So I'm asking for your support again - ANY DONATION is deeply appreciated. If you can't donate, please say a prayer for me and the small group going this year to "re-test the waters" in Nicaragua. We need to plant more Mustard Seeds to continue the good work we've done there.
Would you consider making a donation to support my trip? Your gift directly supports the care of the residents.
Many of the residents at Mustard Seed Communities will never get a chance to see the world. With your help, we will bring the world to them. Thank you.
