Helping kids in Jamaica
Hello from Ollie Dettleff! I am a freshman at The Heights School in Potomac, MD. In March, I am going on a week long service trip with my school to serve the poorest of the poor in Jamaica.
Alongside a group of 20 of my schoolmates and 3 teachers, I will work directly to help disabled and orphaned residents of Blessed Assurance (a Mustard Seed Community) near Montego Bay. Our goal is to serve the children by offering companionship while also completing light construction projects. We hope to improve the infrastructure and facilities where the residents live, learn, and play but most importantly I hope to make a difference to the children there.
Would you consider making a small donation to support my trip?
All donations directly support the care of the orphans who live their entire lives at Mustard Seed. The fee for my airfare, food and accomodations has been covered by my parents and my savings from my summer job but I have a separate goal to raise $1000 for direct donation to Mustard Seed Communites to help the children in Jamaica. I am amazed that we already hit that first goal! Thank you so much! I have raised the goal to help more children at Mustard Seed so every donation counts!
Thank you so much! I would really appreciate your support.
Finally, if you have a minute please enjoy this video made by a recent Heights' student about his experince serving the kids at Mustard Seed in Jamaica.
