2016 WAMS

Join us as we celebrate the 2nd Annual WAMS Luncheon
in Vancouver!

WAMS is a powerful network of women building MS awareness and raising research funds
to end MS.

Honouree: Karimah Es Sabar, CEO and Partner at Quark Venture, Inc.
Guest Speaker: Christine Sinclair, Canadian Women’s Soccer Team Captain

The Women Against MS (WAMS) Luncheon is an annual networking event in support of one of Canada’s leading health charities, the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada.

Karimah Es SabarThis year, WAMS is proud to honour Karimah Es Sabar, CEO and Partner at Quark Venture, Inc., an investment firm that focuses funding in drug development companies, medical devices, health IT and diagnostics. Karimah is the former President and CEO of the Centre for Drug Research and Development (CDRD) where she was one of the driving forces behind a monumental partnership between the CDRD and MS Society of Canada, focusing on progressive MS research. Establishing this partnership with the CDRD has enable the MS Society to leverage the tools and expertise needed to achieve its goal of developing treatments that will enhance the quality of life for people living with MS. Karimah was also part of last year's Women Against MS committee that helped launched WAMS in Vancouver. We recognize and celebrate her dedication and commitment to the cause to end MS as well as her role in the larger community as an inspiration to women in business everywhere.

Christine SinclairThe WAMS Luncheon features a VIP reception, silent auction, and keynote speaker Christine Sinclair, Olympic Medalist and Team Captain of the Canadian Women’s Soccer Team. Christine will be speaking about what leadership means to her, what motivates her and inspiring the next generation of female leaders.

WAMS provides the opportunity to strengthen professional development while at the same time raise Canadian research funds for multiple sclerosis, a disease that disproportionately affects women three times more than men. Funds raised by WAMS will be directed to a new generation of groundbreaking researchers in their endeavors to end MS.
