About MS

Canada has one of the highest rates of MS in the world, with an average of 11 people being newly diagnosed every day. It is one of the most common neurological diseases among young adults in Canada, usually occurring between the ages of 20 and 49. This often-disabling chronic disease targets the central nervous system, which includes the brain, spinal cord and optic nerve.

Canadians living with MS know what it’s like to live with an unpredictable disease every day and the current health crisis has amplified the stress this created. Providing information, resources and support to Canadians affected by MS is even more important now.
