Hi Everyone!! I'm gearing up to ride again in the Cowichan Valley MS Bike with Team MS Derailleurs. We have a few of new riders this year, we're now 12 riders all working hard to raise money to find the cure for MS!
This past September my mom, Sandy, passed away. It was bitter sweet, a blessing really. For many years she had been bed ridden, unable to communicate with us and not recognizing her children or grandchildren. There's not a day that goes by without me thinking of her.
This year's ride is in memory of my mom, Sandra Taylor MacLean. A daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, friend, artist and all around fun loving woman who did not deserve to have this terrible disease of Multiple Sclerosis.
We need to find the cure, and with your help of donations the research for it will continue. So many exciting studies are going on now. Studies like:
Roche Canada investing $2+ million in Canadian Prospective Cohort Study to Understand Progression in Multiple Sclerosis (CanProCo)
"The additional funding for the CanProCo will go toward supporting the three pillars of the cohort: neuroimmunology, neuroimaging, and neuroepidemiology/health outcomes. Spanning multiple disciplines, this five-year project is a collaborative study combining the efforts of nearly 50 leading MS researchers from across Canada. It is the first project of its kind in Canada aiming to better understand progression in MS and why some people progress in their disease while others do not. The team of researchers will try to pinpoint triggers leading to progression and establish methods of managing them while measuring the impact of MS on individuals, as well as the Canadian healthcare system."

So please, when you recieve my request to donate, find it in your heart to give what you can, every dollar counts.
Riding on to find the cure,
