Hi everyone! This is my 24th year participating in the MS Bike Tours. Of course, with COVID-19 out there, I'm doing "virtual" rides, a small group ride (August 14-15 in Ganaoque). Unfortunately, I've just heard (today, June 10) that the one-day ride the Ottawa Chapter was hoping to hold on August 28th is not able to happen. BUT I WILL STILL BE GETTING THE KILOMETERS IN!
I'm riding to support those living with MS and the research that continues within Canada for treatments. Unfortunately, COVID-19 has made life more difficult for people with MS. Beyond being compromised by the disease itself, many treatments impact immunity and resilience. So, if we think about how much money the MS Society raises from Walks, Bike Tours, and other events.... and NONE of those are happening this year.... what becomes of those needing support? What happens to the research that is happening?
Since I started doing these rides, YOU.... my friends, family, and colleagues, have raised over $65,000 for MS Treatments, Supports, and Research.
So.... while I'm sure you have many organizations asking for your help, I'm hopeful that many of you will continue your tradition of supporting the cause (some of you....for ALL the years I've done the Rides!).
Please, visit my page at http://mssoc.convio.net/goto/rkeslic and support me as I continue to cycle to raise funds for MS support, treatments, and research in Canada.
Canada has the highest rate of MS in the world. Every day three more Canadians are diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, an unpredictable illness that affects vision, balance, memory and mobility. We don’t know what causes MS and there is currently no cure.
Your support means Canadian families who are affected by this disease do not have to face MS alone.
When you donate to my fundraising efforts for the MS Bike, your funds are invested into research to find the cause and cure for the disease, while providing services to Canadians with multiple sclerosis and their families.
Thank you in advance for joining the fight to end MS!
