I first attempted the Hinton MS Mountain Bike ride in Sept 2019 and survived the first day of that ride by the skin of my teeth and only through the incredible support and motivation of my new Teammates in A Few Spokes Short. Even before the torrential rains that night cancelled Sunday’s leg of the ride; I was spent and had abandoned any attempt at Day 2.
I ride to beat MS because my step-daughter has MS. A dear friend was diagnosed with this awful damn disease and that just renews my desire to help and work towards making a difference. For them and for others I have met in my life with MS, I ride and fundraise to help win the fight through research and hope!!
I’ve made it my goal to not only ride again in Sept 2020 (assuming life has returned to normal by then and the ride goes ahead) but to lose enough weight and increase my fitness so that I can survive the whole ride this time AND enjoy these 2 amazing days in the mountains and revel in the shared experience of challenging myself and working together to make a difference for those I love with MS.
Please remember, multiple sclerosis has a ripple effect that impacts not only the lives of those diagnosed by the disease, but also their family and community. That’s why I am asking for you to support my fundraising.
Funds raised at MS Bike continue to support leading-edge research and support programs that improve the quality of life for those affected by MS. When you donate to my fundraising you’ll help continue this incredible work.
With every pedal stroke and donation we’ll further the fight against MS.
