I've once again joined a team to ride for Multiple Sclerosis, on August 7, 2021. There may be a live ride from Shawnigan Lake School, but I'm choosing to do a "virtual ride", riding somewhere between 50-100 km closer to home in Victoria, with a couple of other participants on my team.
Over my medical years I have had numerous patients with MS, but I've also had many friends affected with it, to varying degrees. I had a friend die at 55 from it, and this February 2021, my old university roommate died from the disease, after living in care with it since she was 30. She was a ray of sunshine at the care home where she lived, choosing to greet each day pretty cheerfully, despite the ravages of her MS. So this year in particular I am riding for Jude.
Multiple sclerosis has a ripple effect that impacts not only the lives of those diagnosed by the disease, but also their family and community. That’s why I am asking for you to support my fundraising. I certainly understand that this has been a difficult year for everybody and know that not everyone will have money to support this particular cause, but I'm hopeful you'll make even a small contribution. Last year our team raised $14000!!
Funds raised at MS Bike continue to support leading-edge research and support programs that improve the quality of life for those affected by MS. When you donate to my fundraising you’ll help continue this incredible work.
With every pedal stroke and donation we’ll further the fight against MS. Thanks for your support!
