Bike for Mike
It's with a heavy heart, that team BIKE FOR MIKE approaches our 12th year of fundraising through the Grand Bend to London MS Bike event. Sadly, our team namesake and my brother, Mike, passed away in February, succumbing to an aggressive MS flare up at the age of 49. He had been battling MS and living in a complex care hospital for the past 12 years and was stable until this past September.
The 'Bike for Mike' team members and our supporters have and will continue to make a difference for families impacted by this often devasting disease. Since our first ride in 2010, we have raised $350,000 for the MS Society. There has been so much progress in MS treatment options and the latest research in repairing the nerve damage is exciting, but we aren't there yet. For Primary Progressive MS like Mike’s, there’s still so much more research needed. The cure for MS is possible and I have hope that it will come in my lifetime.
Support team BIKE FOR MIKE and let’s do all we can to ensure a cure is found for Multiple Sclerosis.
