Why we’re gearing up
We're gearing up for our friend, brother, son and all-around great guy Liam who was diagnosed with MS. At the young age of 27, he woke up to find numbness in his arm and hand and nothing has been the same since. It's affected his strength, balance, energy and vision. His daily life has become a very difficult struggle and he's not alone. It's an all too common disease that affects more and more people every day.
This is L.I.A.M.S. Team's 7th year running in the Leduc to Camrose ride which is the largest and longest running MS bike event in Canada and I’m proud to say we are last year’s #7 team with a grand total raised of $20,820!!
There will be two options this year, with an in person event scheduled, depending on how things shake out with the pandemic, and also a virtual version in the fall for a physically distanced option.
Some of us are seasoned riders and some of us really haven't improved upon our bicycle skills since the day the training wheels came off. We come from diverse backgrounds but we're all connected by one thing: we all know and love someone who is affected by Multiple Sclerosis. We are united in our common goal to do everything we can to help those living with MS and end this awful disease for good. We have big goals this year and we're going to need your help!!!
L.I.A.M.S. TEAM : Leading Innovation Against MS !!
Every day 3 more Canadians are diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, an unpredictable illness that affects vision, balance, memory and mobility. We don’t know what causes MS and there is no cure... yet.
Your support means families who are impacted by this often devastating disease do not have to face MS alone.
Join our team!!
Become a member of our team and spend the day with friends and family knowing that you are helping to create a more hopeful future for the 100,000 Canadians living with MS. All are welcome to join our team! If you can find a bike to use for a weekend, you qualify! Absolutely everyone is welcome to join our team!
If you aren't able to participate, pledge our team today to help us reach our goal. When you make a donation, your funds are invested into groundbreaking MS research and valuable services for families affected by MS.
