June 15, 2019 - I ride to fight MS ... and YOU?
"Stop the MS: it rolls!" Is a day where motorcyclists join their passion to commitment and unite around the same goal: stop MS!
For the fourth edition of the event, it will be possible, for passionate and committed motorcyclists, to travel nearly 435 km in a loop leaving and returning to Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu. We head south to Venice-en-Quebec, then continue to Frelighsburg and go back to Cowansville. After touring Lac Brome, we will follow the 243 then we will follow Lake Memphrémagog to dive to Coaticook. From there we will drive towards East Angus to restore ourselves.
With our forces back, we will head to Sherbrook. Then we will go north of Mont-Orfrod National Park to take a break just above Granby. Finally, we will use 112 and 104 to return to our starting point.
Made in the spirit of a walk, this event aims to bring together motorcycle enthusiasts who will ride the asphalt for a good cause.
In order to fully understand what motivates me, let me introduce you to Multiple Sclerosis commonly known as MS.
Imagine ...
Imagine that, because of multiple sclerosis, you are not able to get up one morning, suddenly have vision problems or forget your memory for no apparent reason. The symptoms of MS are many and vary from person to person. It is estimated that about 100,000 men and women have the disease in our country, and about three new cases of multiple sclerosis are detected every day.
... a future without MS
The MS Society is the only Canadian volunteer organization that supports MS research while providing services to people living with MS. The profits generated by this event to fund research, whose three main goals are to find the cause and cure for MS, repair the damage to the nervous system that causes MS and end MS outbreaks.
Let's act together
My wife suffering from this disease, I did not hesitate to ride for this cause. I have been able to raise $ 10,410 dollars in recent years by participating in another event and then organizing it. It is only a drop in the ocean, but it has allowed, with all the others, to bring the hope that one day we will come to the end. As a result, I set myself the goal of raising a minimum of $ 2,000 for this edition. And for that I need your help.
Multiple sclerosis remains a mystery as to its causes, the development of treatment is arduous and requires a lot of research. The MS Society provides funding for this through your donations. In the absence of a cure, drugs, currently under development and on the market, can reduce the symptoms and improve the quality of life of people with the disease. By supporting me, you too can change the life of someone with multiple sclerosis.
