Prince George MS Walk 2021 Team
Welcome to the Prince George MS Peer Support Group’s Virtual MS Walk Team, “Prince George MS Walk 2021.” We are excited to join this fundraising initiative and look forward to an active and engaged virtual walk!
Not only does this event offer the Peer Support Group (PSG) an opportunity to raise funds for the MS Society, but it gives us a chance to highlight some of the things the PSG does to support persons living with MS and their families.
To name a few, this includes monthly meetings/peer support sessions (currently via Zoom), keeping an updated Facebook webpage that contains important information on MS, and supporting individuals to obtain disability rates at Northern Sports Centre. On a regular basis, the PSG advocates for MS at City Hall (including having Mr. PG hold the MS flag in May during MS Awareness Month), promote the PSG with posters, on Facebook, and at the Prince George MS Clinic, and most recently, participate in activities such as the “Northern Speaker Series” with the UNBC MS Student Support Club. Throughout the year, the PSG supports other local fundraising efforts like the annual “A&W Burgers to Beat MS” event, designated PSG bottle recycling at the Nechako Bottle Depot and PG Recycling and Return-It Centre, as well as the annual MS Walk (the PSG keeps 10% of what is raised for the walk team).
We look forward to resuming our in-person meetings (and having game nights) while also growing PSG participation. Thank you for supporting the PSG Virtual Walk Team and MS in Prince George!
Thank you for your support!!!!
